Rainbow Eggs for Eating
These eggs are available at the farm gate in Selby from Thursday to Sunday during the egg laying season - July to March. My beautiful heritage breed chickens live in spacious coops and runs or innovative pastured chicken tractors at very low densities. I follow all requirements of the Victorian Department of Agriculture to sell eggs from the farm.
All these coloured eggs are from chickens - beautiful heritage breeds whose complex genetics it is so important to preserve.
Fertile eggs from August to Christmas.
I breed Italian Anconas (black), Rhode Island Reds, Araucanas (mostly lavender with a black and cuckoo project pen) and Marans (black copper and golden cuckoo - these are a work in progress! Really good eggs, though).
Eggs for hatching are $50 per dozen. I am so pleased with the progress my chickens are making to come closer to the breed standards. I also focus on health, temperament and productivity for my birds. Postage is available and I am extremely happy with the posted egg hatch rates people had last season.
